If you want to raise a comic book nerd (as we all do), you should start 'em young on these 10 gems.Â

The yeti escaped from a government lab and is trying to escape but needs the help of Abigail, a young school girl. Government agents continue to pursue Claude. It all happens in a whimsical, kid-friendly way that's not super terrifying but we think it's super ridiculous in all the right ways.Â

It's kiddy humor with a dose of adult wit thrown in. Fun for the WHOLE family. Thank you, France, for your tongue-in-cheek-y ways!

It's comic-book form of familiar stories, so it might be the perfect way to teach your kids about the comic style while keeping them on familiar ground. But there are some lesser known stories in here, too, so no one will get bored!

It's hard to explain what makes this comic collection so special, but there's just something...different about it. The illustrations are stunning and extremely unique. The story lines are also just a little bit more...elevated. They're still very kid-friendly, but they're just a little less predictable, and somehow...more beautiful. A lot of the same structure exists, so if that's what your child has been brought up on, this won't be a jarring transition. Toon Books the publisher is also the only publisher of comic books that gives that reading level clarification for their comics, so that will also help to make sure your child is reading something they can handle.Â

Because it's always important to learn about the classics. These hail from the 1940s and later, and they're still hilarious and resonate with modern young audiences.Â
