Elspeth McLean's art is like something you've never seen before.Â
Looking at these will transport you somewhere. It might be the sea...it might be your dreams...it might even be a different spiritual realm. But wherever it is, we have a feeling it'll be beautiful.Â
Her creations actually take inspiration from Hindu and Buddhist cultures.

Since the artist is Australian, the pieces can easily be confused as Aboriginal creations, especially since they are so brightly colored... but they're more like mandalas.

A mandala actually means "circle," and it's a concept featured frequently in Hindu and Buddhist art. It symbolizes the circular pattern life takes.Â
Whatever they are, and whatever they're inspired by...

Not surprisingly, McLean draws her inspiration largely from the natural world, which is a big part of the reason she chooses sea stones as her medium to paint on.

We can't get enough of these creations.
