This Man Hasn't Walked Since A Motorcycle Wreck, But Now He Can…And Here's How
Adam Fritz, a 26-year-old paraplegic, was recently able to walk again for the first time, thanks to the help of electrodes placed around his knee, which sent transmissions from his spinal cord through to the brain stimulating the muscles in the legs. In fact, the electrodes bypassed his damaged spinal column completely. It's quite incredible.

He explained that when you first sustain an injury such as this, all you can do is hope that someday you'll be able to walk again.

But, that's when something exciting happened for Adam.

Fritz said, "…when it actually happened, it was a dream come true."
"We’ve been able to, for the first time, allow a person to walk hands-free without pressing buttons. It’s a short distance, of course, but in terms of significance, it’s a very exciting step."
This could be a major stepping stone in the decades to come for others who are paralyzed. Essentially every spinal cord injury patient in the next decade could be looking at a different way of life. The future is bright, people.
