Polish artist Joanna Wirażka didn't go to school for art. She never took classes or studied under anyone...

She taught herself.

Which makes her unique and captivating works even more incredible.

And as you can see, Joanna uses a far different canvas than most.

The self-taught artist finds vibrant autumn leaves, most of them maple.

Then after glazing them, she adds her own vibrant colors to them, painting dreamlike scenes on their textured surfaces.

But her passion for art is all encompassing. To her, all kinds of art are worth pursuing.

In her words, "Art makes [the] world better and more beautiful."
Indeed it does - especially art like hers.
