The Hi-C Ecto Cooler You Loved As A Child May Not Be Such A Distant Memory Anymore
The one thing in entertainment that seems to be popping off with more and more success (or at least you'd think it is since audiences have been inundated with it) is reboots. Nostalgia seems to have dominated the market as more and more television series and movies either get reboots or picking back up where they left off so many years ago. But, does happily smothering consumers in nostalgia have to be limited to our screens? A recent move by Coca-Cola seems to indicate the answer is, "No."

But, the excitement is not just limited to the all-star cast of Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy , Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon coming to theaters July 22, 2016.
Yeah, it originally came out back in 1987 to help promote the not-so-great Ghostbusters cartoon spinoff. Obviously the drink didn't keep it on air, but there were plenty of fans of the sugary-drink that comes in a box.
Well, Coca-Cola owns the rights to the Ecto Cooler, and just recently renewed the patent on the slimy beverage that hasn't been on shelves since 2007.
Now, the patent renewal doesn't exactly mean that Hi-C Ecto Cooler is coming to grocery stores anytime soon. It could just mean that corporate Coke wants to make sure it keeps its clasp on the capitalistic potential. For now, just like awaiting the trailer for Ghostbusters (aka Ghostbusters 3) to drop, eager audiences and boxed-juice enthusiasts will have to sit and wait patiently.
The trailer will come, but the jury is still out if we're going to see Ecto Cooler alongside it.
