To Us This Magic Trick Is Lame, But To This Orangutan, It's The Most Hilarious Thing Ever

The one thing that magicians should never do is reveal their tricks, because then the jig is up. Mostly, a redirection sends your eyes elsewhere and it's impossible to figure out, but in this video of a guy playing a little trick on an orangutan at a zoo, we can see exactly what his trick is. The thing is, it's not that impressive from our point of view, but the orangutan can't stop laughing uncontrollably–i.e. is highly impressed.

First, the guy shows the orangutan what's inside the cup…

He gives him a moment to observe and survey the situation. He's curious and wants to see where this whole thing is going.

Then, the guy shows him the ball that was inside of the cup…

Now he understands exactly what is in there and what is going on. The ball is put back in the cup.

After a brief moment of shaking the cup the guy, as you can see, ducks the cup under his leg and drops the ball out of it.

It's so obvious what's he's done from our POV, but the orangutan has no idea what's going on.

"Where the FUDGE did that ball go?!" is presumably what the orangutan is thinking…

That's when it busts a gut laughing so hard at the magic that has just occurred before its very eyes. How did that happen? What's going on?!

Since this magic trick is so funny (apparently), it seems appropriate to end this whole story on an equally funny pun by stating the obvious: that orangutan is "monkeying around!"
