WARNING: This is a tropical dream home and jealousy is likely to occur. Be sure to let us know what you think of this amazing home!
Steve Areen was inspired by one of his friends to build himself a dome home in Thailand.

His friend, Hajjar Gibran has built dome homes in the past and pushed Areen to get creative and make his own.

Areen had the help of Gibran, Gibran's son-in-law as well as his own son-in-law.

With four workers and the lower costs of goods in Thailand, the home only took about 6 weeks to build and only cost $9,000.

According to Areen, the basic structure of the dome home cost about $6000 and was primarily made of cement blocks and clay bricks.

The rest of the work and furnishings came to a cost of under $3000, making the total cost pretty cheap for building an entire home.

All the accents in the home are natural and there are plenty of windows and openings to create a home with natural light.

This home is a cheap, tropical paradise and the story behind it only makes it better!
